Getting in shape is exhausting!

Sunday we went for a long walk in the beautiful weather and the babies were worn out after all of that exercise!

Long Story!

This week we found out Mahlon weighs 17lbs 13oz.

Sara Beth weighs 16lbs 11oz.

Just had to tell you what kind of morning we had...Wesley needed to get to church a little early today, so we decided he should take one baby and I would get there when I could with the other baby...of course he chose the "easy" baby (Mahlon)! Oh and he was also taking my car because the trailor was hooked up to it. Anyway, as usual I was running late, church starts at 9:30 and Sara Beth and I were headed out the door at 9:30. I open the door to Wesley's car and the back seat is folded down and he has a weed eater, gas can, chain saw and 2 rakes piled on top(remember I am already late.) In my church clothes I start draging all of it into the garage and re-adjust the seat to get Sara Beth in...I forgot the passenger side seat belt is messed up! We quickly move to the other side, get her strapped in and head for church. We arrive at 9:45, not too bad, I got to sing half of one song before Sara Beth started squirmimg and grunting...you guessed it she filled up her diaper! Out we go to the car to get a fresh diaper YUK! We sneak back in during the next song, Sara Beth in tow on my hip, and I start singing away until I look down and the little princess has projectile vomitted all over me, the diaper bag, the car seat, the floor, herself...you get the point! I got it all cleaned up before the sermon and then she got "the look". This means I am really tired, but have no desire to go to sleep and I am about to let everyone know by screaming as loud as possible. So to the back of church we go...and I sway her and rock her and rub her back to keep her quiet. And then finally she falls asleep...by now the sermon is almost over and it is time to sing again. Luckily she slept through the rest of church without a peep or poop! Have you noticed that I have yet to mention Mahlon...what a little angel. He slept almost the whole time. God knows what he is doing when he blesses someone with twins. He gives you one "easy baby" and one to keep you on your toes!! We love our sweet babies so much! These are some pictures I took after church today. They were in the best mood after their church naps!

They are getting so big!

The baby whisperer

Doc came to visit yesterday...just in time! Sara Beth had a very fussy day yesterday(not sure if she is teething or just being a high maintenance girl just like her mommy!)But once Doc got here she lit up, took an 8oz. bottle from him(she never takes all 8oz) and then slept for 45 minutes in his arms! That day she would only sleep 20 minutes at a time during "nap time". I didn't want him to leave...he had the magic touch!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. We've been busy, and I haven't taken very many pictures...I think anyone with 2 children is going to be busy!

Uncle Brian came and visited for a week...he was hunting north of Madison so we didn't see too much of him. Him left before the sun came up and got home after dark. He did manage to get in a little baby time though. He had Mahlon laughing so loud one night. I do have it on video, I just have to figure out how to post it.

Now that Mahlon's hair is finally growing back, Sara Beth has a comb over. Bless her heart! Her hair has all fallen out except for these few long strands on top...and believe me I comb it over! I have quit putting bows in her hair to save her last few strands! Good news is the hair that is growing back is white! Looks like she may be blonde after all!

We go for another RSV vaccine on Thursday so we'll know how much they weigh. My guess is Mahlon is close to 17lbs and Sara Beth 16lbs??? We'll see! I can't believe they are getting so big. Willie Ann (who keeps the babies twice a week) said she thinks Mahlon looks like he is 8 months old! And she has kept a lot of babies in her lifetime. He is going to be a tall boy (just like his daddy)!

Hopefully I'll get some new pictures posted soon!

First Meal

Today we decided to try to eat a little rice cereal for the first time...oh what fun. We've been adding rice to their bottles for some time now, but this was our first time to spoon feed the babies. Sara Beth took to it quite well, she cried everytime Wesley took the spoon out of her mouth. She cleaned her plate! Mahlon on the other hand hated every minute of it. He wants to drink/eat fast and being spoon fed was way to slow...we ended up putting his in a bottle to chug! It was quite an experience. It is amazing how quickly they are growing up. Everyday there is something new they are doing. What wonderful little blessings!

Where's Sara Beth?

This seems to be Sara Beth's only way to nap...she loves her pink lamb. Aren't they the sweetest angels!

Just had to put this picture on the blog. Tummy time is soon going to end...Sara Beth is turning it into steam roller time!

Excuse the greasy hair it is bath day. And yes I was trying to avoid the camera in the background...I think more of me was in it the picture than not!

Stroller time!

It's January and time to get in shape! We can't believe they are big enough to sit in this stroller...usually they are in their car seats attatched to the stroller. How sad--they are growing up so fast!

Happy New Year!

This year was another low key New Year celebration. Yesterday (New Year's Eve)was exactly one year ago that we found out I was pregnant, and this year we have 2 babies to show for it!
What a wonderful year we have had. I was so blessed to have such a good pregnancy the first half of 2008 and we have been cherishing every moment the past 5 months with are precious babies. God is so good! We have truly been blessed. Thanks to all of our family and friends for all of your prayers, support, help with the babies, yummy meals...we couldn't have made it without you (OK so maybe we could have, but we would probably quite hungry, sleep deprived, and been many days without a shower! Oh and I wouldn't have had time to blog!) The only way to survive twins is to be surrounded by loving people like you!

Last night we had our favorite meal...a Mexican Fiesta! We stayed in to celebrate and watch football and Wesley made Steak Fajitas and lots of unhealthy side dishes to go with it! It was yummy!

After the babies went to bed we had a fire outside and made smores for dessert! Andy and Katie we missed you!!

Images are smaller than they appear...Lani and I had on Wesley's XXL basketball sweatshirts with our cute New Years tiarra's...that was as dressed up as we could get!

Uncle Brian and Sara Beth had a good time watching LSU football yesterday...Sara Beth even wore her yellow bow and purple bib (we were only cheering for LSU because they are an SEC team...I am not a fan)Isn't it cute how they both have their arm propped up on the couch.
