This is the day...

...that the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it! OK so that is what Wesley and I were telling ourselves at the end of our CRAZY Sunday!

We had a great morning. We even got to church early which most of you know NEVER happens. It was the later part of our day that did us in. On Sunday nights we have community groups at people houses in place of Sunday night church. This week it was at our house and we were so excited to be the hosts. We also thought it would be easier on the babies. They could have dinner, take a short nap and then have their last bottle before bed...you know I am planner...things of course didn't go that way. But let me back up a little. Since we were having people over, the house had to be spotless. Poor Wesley was pooped before anyone got there. We were stashing swings, gliders and baby toys and vacuuming...anyway you get the point.

The babies started screaming about 30 minutes before the group arrived. They were hungry...easy fix right?? They took their entire bottles plus applesauce and oatmeal, a little more oatmeal and some apple juice! WOW they were hungry! They cried in between every bite of food, I couldn't shovel it in fast enough! They played for a little while we ate and socialized. Then it was time for the lesson. Wesley was teaching this week (for the first time) and he was already a little nervous and on edge from listening to screaming babies. Of course I was holding the teething princess and she squealed during his opening prayer and Mahlon bounced and made everything in the bouncy seat jingle. Maison took Mahlon and held him and kept him quiet for a while. Sara Beth squirmed and squealed and did everything but sit quietly (I'm sure I would squirm too if I had 2 big teeth cutting my gums!) We moved to every room in the house! So finally she was somewhat quiet in the nursery and Wesley is half way through the lesson and Lucy (the bad cat) throws up all over the carpet in front of the whole group. Seriously, she could have thrown up in any room and she chose to do it in the middle of 9 people! CHAOS!!! We stopped for a few minutes to get her mess cleaned up and by then poor Wesley had lost his train of thought and he was really thrown off! Then Lucy decided Brooky looked comfy and she began to "make biscuits" in his lap. That is when Wesley booted her outside. For the rest of the evening both cats were scratching at the door trying to get in. Wesley quickly finished the lesson and everyone headed home. We had the babies in bed by 8:20! I thought it would be a good idea to do one load of laundry before getting ready for bed myself...not such a good idea. The washing machine overflowed!!!! Are you kidding me! Now it is 11pm, my body aches from not stopping all day long and all we can do is laugh!! This is the day that Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it!!

first...the picture up top is adorable! i still can't get over how old they are getting!

second...y'all were so sweet to have us over at your house. i know it was probably easier b/c you didn't have to pack them up to go somewhere else, but then again i'm not sure if it was easier after all!

third...we all had a GREAT time and all of those things just made it so much fun to be there!

fourth...i can't believe that about the washer. of course it would overflow right when you want to go to bed! why wouldn't it?

i'm so thankful that we are in the same community group!
